Left and right bundle branch block (LBB and RBB) are heart conditions causing irregular heartbeats due to blockages in the electrical pathways. LBB results in slower left heartbeats, while RBB causes slower right heartbeats. LBB is more serious and may indicate coronary artery disease. Causes include congenital heart diseases, dilated cardiomyopathy, heart attack, heart failure, and high blood pressure. RBB may lead to liver diseases like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary embolism, and pulmonary hypertension. Patients with bundle branch blocks and heart conditions are at greater risk and require careful monitoring.
Left and right bundle branch blocks typically don't cause visible symptoms, but severe cases or existing heart conditions may lead to dizziness or fainting. Blockages on both sides can result in abnormal breath, shortness of breath, and slower heart rates. Common causes include high blood pressure, heart disease, inflammation of heart muscles, and blood clots.
